Hello, in this blog, I am going to tell you everything you need to know to be a certified pharmacy Technician and of course give you some tricks.
First of all you have to meet these requirements:
-          Be at least 18
-          Have at least a High school Diploma or GED
-          Have a clean background check
-          Be ready to pay $ 129.00
The official website is www.ptcb.org  you have all the information you need from there and that is where you apply for exam.
The most important part is your preparation… if you follow my directions I guarantee you will  have 75% of chance to pass the exam. So, you need four (4) items: 3 books and one card/CD
Let’s review them:
-          The pharmacy technician fourth edition (buy it directly from this blog!)
You have to read this entire book first, it has everything you need to know in your daily job activities as a tech and the book contains the set of laws and regulations for the profession.
Read the book twice especially if you have never worked in a pharmacy before.
If you do not get a concept do not hesitate to ask questions, also try to connect with someone who is currently working in a pharmacy.
-          The second book is the math review for the pharmacy technician 3rd edition
Really focus on theses chapters 2, 3,4,6,7,8,11 but do all of them.
The key is to master the ratio and proportion…once you got that, the rest should be easy
Plus the  author of this book is funny, i am pretty sure  you are going to enjoy it
Try to do the questions on your own…before looking at the answers.
-          The third one  is the workbook and the certification review ( buy from here)
Do all the problems if possible.
I recommend you to do the practice exam at the end of the book 2 days before the real test
So you can keep it  fresh in your mind, but do not try to memorize the answers they will never be the same.
-          The fourth item is the top 200 brand and generic drugs card or CD (buy from here)
Memorize at least 180 of the brand and generic names but also what they are prescribed for.
-          Extra tricks: you also need a dry erase board where you can work or write down something you don’t understand.
Also some Wall stickers for your formulas or any other important notes.
Check my you tube channel I have some more helpful videos
Post a comment, e-mail me, Skype me and call me if you have any question.
Good luck.

  1. A really good pharmacy technician training can really be a good thing to have as a preparation not just for this career field but also the certification. Getting that certification is not really an easy thing to do so everyone who wants to be in this field should really prepare for it well.
